The auto show with dad. There's not a man in America without the memory. For my brother and me, that meant trekking with pops down to the L.A. Convention Center, smack in the center of downtown L.A., a horrible place to be, I knew, even as a kid. Only two events merited the trip: Dodger Games (and even then we just passed through), and the auto show. Of course, the best thing about the auto show was catching a glimpse of cars that didn't exist, cars that rivaled anything in the imagination, cars that rivaled anything in even the best Hot Wheels collection--concept cars. Back when, from the '50s through the '70s, American concept cars were out there, very Jetson-inspired. With the beating that Detroit took in the '80s, concept cars became decidedly less imaginative, if they were produced at all. A concept for Chrysler in the mid-'80s meant a car that would sell. Now that "America's back," so are the concepts. Granted, they're not what they were in the days of our youth (or, maybe I'm just jaded), but they're respectable--check out the 6.0 liter V-12 Ford Indigo, or the Batmobile-like Lincoln LK2, for example. Here, Trouble & Attitude saves you the trip to your local convention center hell, and presents the current crop of concept vehicles from the world's premier auto makers. –R. Raderman
